Binge Eating

Disorder (BED)

BED is a clinically defined psychiatric disorder. It is defined as recurring episodes of eating significantly more food in a short period of time than most people would eat under similar circumstances, with episodes marked by feelings of lack of control. BED may be accompanied by feelings of distress, disgust and guilt as well as eating when not hungry. These episodes occur at least once a week for 3 months and are not associated with any compensatory behaviours.
